How heavy can earrings be? How heavy is 3g?

In this post I'm going to focus on the weight of my earrings.

As you know, it is very important to me that my jewelry is not too heavy so that it is comfortable to wear and is especially gentle on the ear holes and earlobes. Therefore, the majority of earrings in my shop are no heavier than 3g.

But how hard is “too hard”?
What does “easy” mean?
How heavy is 3g?

Questions about questions.

It is probably a very individual feeling when an earring is “too heavy”. It certainly depends on the anatomy of the earlobe.

I once read that European women seem to find earrings up to 5g comfortable to wear. I cannot say whether this was determined in a study or not and how accurate this statement is.

All I can say is that I can wear an earring that weighs 5g, but I don't want to wear it all day. I've probably gotten very used to my light earrings and just find it pleasant to feel as little of my earring as possible.

But habit or not, the less weight the ear hole/lobe has to bear, the better - I think we agree on that.

But how heavy or how light is 3g?

Many people who have nothing to do with weight information find such information nice, but can't imagine anything about it. I couldn't do that either. And since there is unfortunately no haptic online shop yet where you can feel the earring and its weight, we have to work with comparisons. The easiest comparison to get a feel for 3g is a 2 cent coin . This weighs exactly 3g and can therefore be used very well as a reference.

All love!

Your,

Denise
